This past week, two fire companies of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department commemorated their founding. On May 22th, Columbia Hose Co. No. 3 (Engine 87) celebrated its 112th anniversary, having been organized in 1899 in the Briggsville section of the Village. The second company, celebrating their founding in May 26, 1876, is the North Tarrytown Fire Patrol (Rescue 12), making it the oldest fire company in the Village with 135 years of service. The Chiefs of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department acknowledge and thank these two companies for their continued service to the community.
