On May 11 at approximately 1758 hours, the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department was requested to 100 College Avenue for a stuck occupied elevator. Upon arrival, firefighters were informed by SHPD officers that an 18 month old male was stuck alone in the elevator. Firefighters worked to gain access to the elevator and were finally able to enter the elevator via the emergency hatch on the elevator's ceiling. A ladder was lowered into the elevator and a firefighter entered to assess the child. The child was promptly removed from the elevator and rejoined with his parents.
