On Monday June 18, 2012, the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department Apparatus Committee traveled to Pierce Manufacturing INC. Fire Apparatus Headquarters in Appleton, WI for a pre-construction conference on our new Rescue Style Engine. After nearly 2 years of researching and developing the new engine, it will be delivered in Mid October. The committee on this very warm Monday and Tuesday sat down with representatives from Pierce and went over all the current construction plans and designs of the new engine and made some minimal adjustments to the specifications. Members also took a tour of the entire manufacturing facility. The following are some of the spec's of the new apparatus:
