On August 5th, the SHFD Junior Corps received their first trophy since the program's inception. The Junior Corps marched in the Ossining Fireman's Parade and was rewarded for their efforts with the "Best Appearing Junior Corps" trophy. This was also the first judged parade that the Junior Corps marched in.
The SHFD Junior Corps is compromised of youth, ages 14 to 17, who want to serve their community as part of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department. The junior firefighters are trained and equipped the same as firefighters but are limited in their assignments at calls. The program has been in existence since 2009 and currently has 20 active members.
