He has undergone surgery already and will need more to completely remove the bullet fragments that are still in his leg. On that same call Sergeant Dustin DeMonte and PO Alex Hamzy were shot and killed by the offender. PO Iurato, while wounded (as seen on his body cam footage that was released by Bristol PD), was able to retreat to safety and return fire and stop the offender from senselessly killing anyone else.

PO Iurato has held many fundraisers for the surviving family members of the DeMonte and Hamzy families but really wanted to put his personal touch on something and was approached by Bald Bros Inc to design a baseball cap. PO Iurato jumped at the chance and did just that, designed a baseball cap honoring his fallen brothers. The proceeds from the sales will go directly to both families. PO Iurato appreciates the thoughts and prayers that have been sent his way but would much rather you send them to the families of the deceased officers.
